stupidhit.com is a 19-year-old domain attached to a fully functioning museum of terrible ideas that made money anyway. The whole thing, code, content, domain, seal of approval, is for sale for 2 BTC, a number chosen because it's itself a stupid hit: absurd on paper, and yet here it is, the actual asking price.
How This Happened
stupidhit.com was first registered in 2007, deep in the era when domain squatters bought up anything that sounded vaguely clever and let it rot on a parking page forever. Ownership drifted through a string of brokers and resellers, including at least one owner who almost certainly forgot the domain existed. It got listed, delisted, and quietly renewed by nobody in particular, and somehow never expired. Nineteen years, several owners, and zero business plans later, it landed here. Turns out the domain's own backstory is the most stupid hit of all: a genuinely bad bet that just kept paying off.
